Overview
This guide explains how to deploy the Calliente Android app using VMware Workspace ONE UEM via the Managed Google Play Store.
This method applies to Android Enterprise devices enrolled in Work Profile or Fully Managed (Device Owner) mode.
✅ Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that:
- You have an active Workspace ONE UEM environment
- Android Enterprise is configured in:
Devices > Android > Android EMM Registration - Google Play EMM integration is active and approved
- Devices are enrolled as Android Enterprise (Work Profile or Fully Managed)
▶️ Step 1: Approve the App in Managed Google Play
- Navigate to the Workspace ONE UEM console
- Navigate to:
Apps & Books > Public > Add Application - Select the Android platform, then click Search in Managed Google Play
- In the search window, type Calliente and select the app
- Click Approve, accept the permissions, then Save
- Return to Workspace ONE: the app will be added to your app catalog
▶️ Step 2: Assign the App to Devices or Users
- Go to:
Apps & Books > Native > Public, then select Calliente - Click Assignments, then Add Assignment
- Select the target Smart Group (devices or users)
- Define the distribution method:
- Automatic (Auto) for silent installation
- On Demand to make it available in the Work Play Store
- (Optional) Enable app configuration if the app allows it
- Click Save and Publish Assignment
▶️ Step 3: Monitor Deployment
- On the targeted Android device, open the Work Profile Play Store
- The Calliente app will appear in the Work apps section or will install automatically based on your settings
- In the UEM console, go to:
Monitor > App Status or Device Details to verify installation success
