This guide describes the procedure for deploying the Android application Calliente using VMware Workspace ONE UEM via the Managed Google Play Store.
This method applies to Android Enterprise devices, whether enrolled in work profile mode or in fully managed mode (Device Owner).
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- An operational Workspace ONE UEM environment
- Android Enterprise configured in:
- Devices > Android > Android EMM Enrollment
- The Managed Google Play (EMM) integration is active and approved
- Devices are enrolled as Android Enterprise
(work profile or fully managed)
Step 1: Approve the application in the Managed Google Play
- Log in to the Workspace ONE UEM console
- Navigate to:
Apps & Books > Public > Add Application - Select the Android platform
- Click on Search in Managed Google Play
- Search for Calliente, then select the application
- Click on Approve, accept the requested permissions, and save
Once the operation is complete, the application is added to your Workspace ONE app catalog.
Step 2: Assign the application to devices or users
- Go to:
Apps & Books > Native > Public - Select Calliente
- Click on Assignments, then on Add Assignment
- Select the target Smart Group (devices or users)
Then define the distribution method:
- Automatic (Auto): mandatory silent installation
- On Demand: application available in the managed Play Store
- (Optional) Configure application settings if required
- Click on Save then Publish
Step 3: Monitor the deployment
On the targeted Android devices:
- Open the managed profile Play Store
- The Calliente application will install automatically or be available depending on the chosen distribution mode
In the Workspace ONE UEM console:
- Check Monitor > App Status
- Or Device Details to verify the status and success of the installation

With Workspace ONE UEM and the Managed Google Play Store, organizations can deploy and manage the Calliente application centrally and securely across their entire Android fleet.
This approach allows for both mandatory and optional deployments, with the ability to apply configuration settings when necessary.
