Questions we get asked
Can Microsoft 365 natively sync the Global Address List (GAL) to iPhone or Android contacts?+
No. Microsoft 365 does not natively publish the GAL or Entra ID directory into the native Contacts app on iOS or Android. Calliente fills this gap by syncing Entra ID contacts to the device's native address book, with caller ID.
Does Calliente store our company contacts?+
No. Calliente performs delegated Microsoft Graph API calls from the device and does not store or process customer contacts on its servers. The architecture is GDPR-ready.
How is Calliente deployed?+
A Microsoft 365 administrator approves the Calliente app in Microsoft Entra ID (one-click admin consent), then the app is deployed with Microsoft Intune or VMware Workspace ONE, or installed from the App Store and Google Play for a pilot. Android Enterprise Work Profile is supported, and no server, PowerShell script, CSV export or admin rights on the device are needed: a pilot takes a few minutes.
Which permissions does Calliente request?+
Only the permissions needed to read the Microsoft 365 directory. They are granted through an explicit admin consent in Microsoft Entra ID and can be revoked at any time from Entra ID, which cuts Calliente off from the directory.
What happens when an employee joins or leaves the company?+
Synchronization is automatic and runs daily: changes made in Microsoft Entra ID (new hires, departures, new job titles or phone numbers) are reflected on the phones with no action from users or IT.
Can we choose which contacts are synchronized?+
Yes. With the Business plan, administrators pick which Microsoft Entra ID groups are synchronized, so each population only sees the contacts that matter to them.
What is Secure Call ID?+
Secure Call ID identifies incoming calls from colleagues using the company directory while protecting synced contacts from export and from personal iCloud backups. On iOS, the Business plan can also block contact export entirely.
How much does Calliente cost?+
Standard costs €4 per user per year and Business €6 per user per year, billed annually. Multi-year commitments get 10% off for 2 years and 20% off for 3 years. A 30-day free trial is available on your own Microsoft 365 tenant, with no credit card.
Does Calliente work on personal phones (BYOD)?+
Yes. Calliente runs on iOS and Android, supports Android Enterprise Work Profile so work contacts stay in the work profile, and works with Apple Business Manager and BYOD policies.
Is Calliente GDPR compliant?+
Calliente is built to minimize data processing: company contacts are read from Microsoft 365 by the app on the device and are never stored or processed on Calliente servers. There is no copy of your directory to secure, declare or purge.
